Abstract: |
To summarize the understory interplanting technology of Ilex asprella, the growth indicators of
2-year-old I. asprella interplanted under Cunninghamia lanceolata and Pinus massoniana forests with different
canopy closure degrees and slope positions were investigated and comparatively analyzed in forest lands at an altitude of 325- 405 m. The results showed that the canopy closure degree had a highly significant effect ( P <
0. 01) on the growth of I. asprella interplanted under the forest. The optimal closure degrees for the growth of
I. asprella interplanted under C. lanceolata and P. massoniana forests were both 0. 30-0. 49. within the closure
degree of 0. 3-0. 7, the ground diameter, tree height, crown width, number of sprouting branches, main root
length, lateral root length, and root width of I. asprella gradually decreased with increasing closure. At an altitude of more than 300 m and a slope greater than 20°, different slope positions also had a very significant impact
(P<0. 01) on the growth of aboveground and underground parts of I. asprella interplanted under the forest. I. asprella planted at the lower slope position grew best, and the upper slope position was the worst. The biomass of I. asprella from high to low was lower slope, middle slope, and upper slope. The root proportion was
the smallest on the lower slope and the largest on the upper slope, and the smallest on the upper slope. The proportion of leaves did not change significantly. The average fresh weight of roots, stems and leaves of I. asprella
accounted for 24%-30%, 60%-65% and 9%-11% of the total fresh mass of plants, respectively. Interplanting
I. asprella on the middle and lower slopes with a closure degree less than 0. 5 under C. lanceolata and
P. massoniana forests can obtain higher yields. |
