Abstract:
Afforested land is categorized into forest land, sparse land, underage land, shrub wood and non-forest land. Three maps about distributed forestry land in Meizhou are made in three respective years of 1985, 1995 and 2000 based on using ArcGIS9.1. The forest resource dynamic in Meizhou has been discussed and analyzed by means of statistical data of forest from 1985 to 2005 (about 5 years a distance). The results indicate that the areas of the afforested land and forest land have decreased 389.1×103 hm2 and 194.9×103 hm2, and forest storage has grown 2031.6×104m3, while the area of non-forest land and forest coverage have decreased 533.9×103 hm2 and 8.6% respectively; and the consumption is smaller than the increment. Moreover, forest resource features and direction towards the development are discussed and evaluated. Forest storage is a little low, but potentiality is high; it shows an uneven distribution, which is rich in the area without middle and southwest area; structure of forest species is reasonable, and forest classification management reform is effective; area ratio of nearly ripe and middle-age and young growth forest is large, and so on. Therewith achieving to find out the cause of dynamic analysis of forest resources scientifically and infer its protection measures in Meizhou.
