Abstract: |
To identify suitable growing substrates for Ormosia henryi seedlings and optimize rhizobia application techniques, this study evaluated the effects of different substrate formulations ( imported peat, domestic
peat, vermiculite, perlite, and yellow clay) combined with rhizobia inoculation on seedling growth and physiological parameters, including plant height, ground diameter, leaf number, leaf length and width, soluble sugar content, and nitrate nitrogen content. The seedling cultivation efficacy was comprehensively assessed using the membership function method. Results indicated that without rhizobia inoculation, substrate B ( imported
peat ∶ vermiculite ∶ perlite = 2 ∶ 1 ∶ 1) achieved the highest comprehensive membership function value (0. 61),
along with the maximum net growth in plant height of 14-month-old seedlings (3. 81 cm) and the longest leaf
length (3. 64 cm). When rhizobia were inoculated, substrate A (imported peat ∶ yellow clay = 1 ∶ 1) exhibited
the highest comprehensive membership function value (0. 76), the greatest leaf number, the highest soluble
sugar content (12. 93 mg·g
-1
), reduced activities of catalase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD), and enhanced
stress resistance. In conclusion, substrate A (with rhizobia inoculation) and substrate B (without rhizobia inoculation) are the optimal choices for efficient seedling cultivation of O. henryi. This study provides technical and
methodological references for high-yield seedling cultivation of O. henryi. |
