Abstract:
To identify the biological characteristics of Colletotrichum siamense, a leaf pathogen of Sterculia monosperma, and to screen eff ective fungicides, the biological characteristics of C. siamense, such as the light exposure, pH, carbon source, nitrogen source and temperature, were determined by the method of growth rate. The 6 fungicides displayed signifi cant but varying inhibitory eff ects on mycelial development. The results showed that cellulose and lactose was the most suitable carbon source, tryptone was the preferred nitrogen source. And C. siamense grew well on PDA medium at the pH of 7.0 and 28-30 °C, the lethal temperature was 55 °C. Diff erent light exposures did not signifi cantly aff ect the fungal growth. The results of the indoor toxicity test showed that 98% bromothalonil, 97% pyrimethanil, 95% boscalid, 98% azoxystrobin, 96.8% difenoconazole and 98% thiram had inhibitory eff ects on the mycelial growth of pathogens. For those fungicides, 96.8% difenoconazole showed high toxicity with EC50 of 5.24 μg/mL.
