Abstract:
To understand the growth adaptability of Camellia oleifera seedlings selected from different producing areas in Jiangtun town, Guangning county, Zhaoqing city, Guangdong province. A total of 18 varieties of C. oleifera from Hunan, Jiangxi, Guangxi, and Guangdong were selected as the experiment materials. The survival rate, incidence of pests and diseases, growth, flowering, tree architecture of C. oleifera were investigated after 2 years of planting. The results showed that among the cultivars, the seedling body size (seedling height×crown width)with more flowers was Cenruan No.2, followed by Cenruan No.3, Ganzhouyou No.1, Ganshi 83-4, Huaxin, Changlin No.4 and Huashuo. Compared with other varieties, Cenruan No.3 and Ganzhouyou No.1 had the highest survival rate after transplanting, and all the seedlings survived, while Huajin, Ganwu 2, and Xianglin No.1 grew weaker, with a survival rate of 83.3%, 90.0%, and 86.7%, respectively, and were more prone to pests and diseases.
