Abstract: |
Particulate pollution, especially the fine particulate matter (PM2.5), is the main problem of air
pollution in China. Urban forest and green land are the important components of urban ecosystem with selfpurification function. The application of urban forest and green land on reducing atmospheric particulate pollution
is attracting increasing attention, and has good prospects. This paper summarized the situation of particulate
pollution in China, and the plant purification on atmospheric pollution. We summarized the relationship between
urban forest and PM
2.5 from four perspectives, including the forest adsorption mechanism on particulate matter,
the damage of PM2.5 on plants, comparison of effects of vegetation removal of PM2.5 at different scales, and other
factors that affect the adsorption process. This paper puts forward the possible development directions of future
researches, including expanding the scope of research tree species, studying the adsorption preference of different
tree species, and combining researches of different scales, which might contribute to more effective application of
urban forest on air pollution remediation. |
