Abstract: |
A total of 500.60 hm2 of Dalbergia odorifera were planted in seven state forest farms of Zhaoqing from 2007 to 2010. Growth situation and adaptability of D.odorifera were investigated and evaluated. The plantations displayed the best growth in Dashuikou Forestry Farm and Dananshan Forestry Farm, intermediate adatability in Dakengshan Forestry Farm, Qinggui Forestry Farm, and partial area of Beilingshan Forestry Farm, and the worst performance in Xinggan Forestry Farm and Kuidong Forestry Farm. The young plantations of D. odorifera tolerated a short period of frost less than 5 days. No injury was observed at the sites with frost period less than 3 d, but slight damage in 4 to 5 d frost; More severe damage from frost appeared at the sites in 10 to 15 d frost and trees died in the condition with 45 to 60 d frost. Two year old saplings sprouted after suffering frost damage, while one yearold seedlings died immediately after frost damage. These results provided useful information for the development of D. odorifera lantation in Zhaoqing and surrounding areas with similar climate. |
